How can I purchase an InterlokTM Home?
InterlokTM homes are not available for purchase by individuals direct from the factory. They are being sold exclusively by manufactured home community retailer/developers in various parts of the US. In late 2009 it is anticipated it will be available from local boulevard manufactured home and modular sales locations in selected markets.
Where is the InterlokTM home available?
For 66' transportable homes
The InterlokTM home is being constructed at one of 40 available manufactured housing factories. Most locations in the lower 48 contiguous states can be served within 400 miles of an approved factory.
Where and when is the InterlokTM Home available?
Final engineering will be completed and the first newly designed homes will be available in limited communities in early January 2009.
To what building codes is the InterlokTM home built?
Initially it will be built primarily to the Federal HUD Codes, later in limited markets is will be available in Modular Codes.
Where may the interlokTM home be installed?
It may be sited in single family R-1 zoned lots if built to modular codes, or on a single family detached homesite if zoned for HUD Code homes, or in an approved sub-division or a land lease community.
How much will the InterlokTM Home it sell for?
Pricing is dependent on the home size, building standards, features, and building codes. In 2009, on the lower end of the price range, including basic home foundation, not including the homesite the smallest 2/2 home with 900 sq.ft. of living area, and minimum home features will sell for as little as $32,000 to $35,000.
A larger 3/2 home with 1,192 sq.ft. and upgraded home features will sell for from $45,000 to $50,000. And the largest home in a 4/2 configuration and 1,341 sq.ft. (where 18' wide homes may be transported) with upgraded standards and features will sell for from $60,000 to $70,000.
Building the home to modular codes may add another $10,000 to $18,000 to the price depending on the local jurisdiction building codes and standards.
Will the InterlokTM home qualify as a beach or waterfront vacation Home?
Yes, in most jurisdictions, provided it has been built to meet local building codes. Generally if zoning restrictions allow only site built homes, then it must be built to area modular codes and standards, and installed on a permanent foundation system which matches local requirements.
In what home sizes is the InterlokTM home built?
The basic “ELL” home is available in the following sizes:
14' transportable
66' net length 2/2 910 sq.ft.
76' net length 3/2 1,050 sq.ft.
16' transportable

It may be built in with most any custom width up to 36', but 20', 24', 28' and 32' are the standard front section widths
What floor plans are available in the InterlokTM home?
Initially most floor plans will be based on the basic floor plan which includes the kitchen and living room/den in the front section, with the bedrooms and baths in the rear section. Other floor plans will be offered in mid to late 2009.
Why would I choose the InterlokTM home in the smaller 14' wide transportable size?
Depending on the location of the homesite in which the home is to be installed, 16' wide and 18' wide (where allowed by law) may incur added transport costs based on higher tariffs, insurance costs, permits, and may require escort, “flag” or “pole” cars. At today’s high fuel costs, and the distance from the factory to the homesite, these added costs may increase the home price for the wider homes from $1,000 to $5,000 or more.
What are the minimum lot sizes on which an InterlokTM home may be installed?
That depends on the local land use and zoning codes which dictate setbacks. For typical setbacks of 15' front, 10' rear, and 7.5' side yard setbacks minimum homesite sizes are:
14' x 20' front: 40' x 84'
14' x 24' front: 44' x 80'
