The Concept

The InterlokTM home is an ingenious manufactured housing system that creates a multi-section look using economical single-section construction techniques. In this proprietary interior construction system, two single width home sections are shipped end to end on a single chassis, and "separated" at the site. The two sections are then married and the chassis are secured together. Savings from today’s high transportation costs can be considerable.

By shipping the home on a single frame, but in two pieces that are "separated"at the site and reassembled into an "L", "T" or "V" configuration, they have converted the major drawback of a single section home — its excessive length — into a virtue.

The system eliminates the highly unpopular elongated proportions of the typical single section home for less than a 5% retail price up charge, resulting in a savings relative to a comparably sized double section home. A hidden cost saving is often overlooked: the "L", "T" or "V" shape results in reduced interior corridors or accessways, with more usable square footage.

The InterlokTM home is stiffer and more resistant to wind loads than a single section home, since one steel floor braces the other. Because the home sections are exactly like ordinary single section designs, they can be integrated into any current production line, with minimal disruption to the work flow.

Once sited, the inside angles created by the two perpendicular sections create attractive places for sheltered outdoor living: a semi-private courtyard area.

This uniquely affordable home is now available for community owners, developers and retailers Nationwide, from one of 40 locations which will support the production of the home and delivery within a 400 mile radius.
