"The Interlok™ home is an ingenious modular housing system* that creates a multi-section look using economical single-section construction techniques", from Innovations At The Cutting Edge, New Ideas In Manufactured Housing, Prepared for HUD Office of PD&R: Policy Development and Research, PATH report,  August 1999.

In this proprietary construction system, two single width factory built home sub-sections are shipped end to end together on a single chassis, and "separated" at the home site. The two sections are then married and the chassis sections are secured together, creating an aesthetic home elevation as seen from the street, elminating the unpopular single section "barracks style" look.

Savings from low single section factory built home construction costs, and the lower cost of transporting only a single transportable unit, greatly reduces today's high transporation costs from the factory to the homesite, and reducing environmental polution.

The resulting "downsized" home provides for up to 1,200 sq.ft. of high quality living space plus a semi-private courtyard, with a secure steel integrated foundation platform which resists high winds and strong earth movements.

* Patents Pending 2008.  May be built to modular or HUD building codes.
